Registered Insurance Brokers Of Ontario (RIBO) Discipline Committee
found that there was sufficient evidence in support of the plea of
guilty and found Richard Elliott guilty of misconduct. The
Committee ordered that the certificate of Registration of Richard
Elliott be suspended for six months effective December 1, 2013 and
that Richard Elliott pay a fine of $2,000.

The public places a great deal of trust in an Insurance Broker to
protect them. As such it is a highly regulated industry
holding Brokers to higher standards than most. Rick Elliott
has served the public and his community diligently and
professionally for 32 years following in his father’s,
grandfather’s and great grandfather’s footsteps.
Unfortunately Rick committed an error recently in a file and
our regulator, RIBO suspended his license for six months
commencing December 1st.
As the new owners of Elliott Insurance we too believe in providing
professional advice and support to the public and support RIBO in
this decision. During Rick’s suspension the very capable
staff of Elliott Insurance along with the resources of our 6 other
offices will continue to advise and protect our customers, both
new and old. We look forward to working very closely with
