Anthony Greenham – Trafficking Persons, Procuring Person To Be A Prostitute

On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, a 28-year-old man was charged with human trafficking related offences.

As a result of the investigation, Anthony Greenham of Mississauga, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Trafficking in persons, contrary to section 279.01(1);

– Receiving financial benefit from trafficking in person, contrary to section 279.02;

– Procuring illicit sexual intercourse, contrary to section 212(1)(a);

– Procuring person to be a prostitute, contrary to section 212(1)(d);

– Exercise control of a person for the purpose of prostitution, contrary to section 212(1)(h); and

– Mischief under $5,000, contrary to section 430(4).

Investigators from the London Police Service first contacted the female adult victim in October 2013. The early stages of human trafficking investigations often involve providing victims with the support, resources and connections needed to come forward and leave the sex trade. These Relationship-building efforts by investigators has provided this victim the support needed to share her experiences.

The investigation revealed that this victim was being trafficked as a prostitute since April 2013 when she was first approached by the accused, Greenham. After initial contact with police in October 2013, it was not until April of 2014 she made the decision to leave the sex trade.

She had been trafficked in hotels and motels in Windsor, Sarnia, Chatham, Guelph, Burlington, Mississauga, Brampton and London.

Greenham is currently in custody from charges related to a human trafficking investigation with yet another victim.
