(FERGUS, ON) On March 4, 2013 at about 7:49pm, a County of Wellington OPP officer investigated the driver of a vehicle found travelling on Old Orangeville Rd, in the town Fergus. Police stopped the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and discovered the driver had been drinking. A Roadside Screening Device Test was administered to the driver which resulted in a fail.
Further investigation showed the males drivers licence was suspended, there was no insurance on the vehicle and the licence plate validation had expired in 2010; however there was a 2013 validation sticker on the plate.
Anthony D’Archi, age 36 of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with Over 80mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Drive While Suspended and Use Validation Not Furnished For Vehicle, both contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He has a Guelph court date of March 19 2013 to answer to the charges.
