Another Pedestrian Struck

On December 21, 2015 at 9:06 p.m., the Guelph Police located a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen. It was parked and unoccupied in a Woodlawn Road West motel parking lot. Investigation led to the arrest of three males. A search subsequent to the arrests discovered a small quantity of Crystal Meth and three prohibited knives on one of the men.

A 28-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a court order and possession of a controlled substance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 22, 2015.

A 36-year-old Angus male has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 22, 2015. This male is also wanted by three other police services for various criminal charges.

The third male was released without charges.

Break and enter

On December 21, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Howitt Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home sometime overnight while the residents were sleeping and stole a wallet containing cash and I.D.

Break and enter

On December 21, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Celia Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime overnight and stole three bicycles.

Pedestrian struck

On December 21, 2015 at 5:10 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street for the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The female pedestrian reported minor injuries and the vehicle had minimal damage. The pedestrian has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with pedestrian fail to use crosswalk.

Theft from cars

On December 21, 2015 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Mohawk Drive and Woodlawn Road West.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
