Andrew MCCALLUM – Breach, Obstruct Peace Officer

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Just before 1:30 a.m. on October 5, 2014 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers spotted a Chevrolet Silverado travelling southbound on Victoria Street and noticed there were no headlights activated on the vehicle. Police initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the occupants of the vehicle. Investigation quickly determined the male passenger in the vehicle provided a false name in an effort to mislead the investigating officer.

Upon confirmation of the male’s actual name it was determined he was failing to comply with the conditions of his court release and probation sentence by having contact with the female driver of the vehicle. As a result, 36 year old Andrew MCCALLUM from London has been charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Obstruct Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Breach of Recognizance.

He remains in custody with an upcoming court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
