ALERT: Robbery In Blyth – Suspect Still At Large – Description Released

(NORTH HURON, ON) Members of the Huron County OPP responded to a robbery at the Radford Fuel Station on Queen St in Blyth at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday February 28, 2012.

Police investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the fuel station kiosk while the lone gas bar attendant was inside. The male began taking money from the cash register. The attendant stopped and restrained the male which resulted in an altercation that continued outside the kiosk. The suspect was able to break free and fled the area on foot; he was last seen walking east on King St towards Mill St in Blyth. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash prior to leaving the scene.

The male suspect was described as being in his early 20’s, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 lbs with a skinny frame. The male had greasy blonde / light brown hair with some curls. He was wearing a black hooded sweater with a large red logo and a zipper on the front. He also wore dark blue jeans with faded sections.

Huron County OPP officers with the assistance of the OPP Western Region Canine Unit searched the area for the suspect with negative results. The Huron County OPP Crime Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
