On July 15th 2016, the Halton Regional Police Service arrested and charged Richard HAZEL (47) of Burlington with 7 charges including Fraud x3, Utter Forged Document x1 and Breach of POA Probation Order x3.
Since 2010, HAZEL has been doing electrical work and is fraudulently representing himself as a licensed electrical contractor. HAZEL’s work has been confirmed to be faulty on numerous occasions. He is known to post ads on Kijiji in order to obtain electrical jobs. HAZEL has been charged on numerous occasions, including under the Electricity Act, however police believe there may be other victims.
The Halton Regional Police Service are urging consumers to verify the credentials of contractors and asking any citizens that may have been victimized by HAZEL to come forward.
