In a shameless attempt to silence the Public North Huron council is trying to remove Public and Press questions at council meetings. They have attempted this before, but the Public and Press rose up and put council in their place. The Public and remaining Press must rise up again, immediately!
Your resistance is not futile.
With your help the People have accomplished what was once thought impossible. You helped save the Wingham trailer park, got councilor email addresses released, saved Public Gallery and Press questions at council meetings once, created the Wingham Community Market, stopped the $50,000 rope light project, stopped the arch project, got Reid Road potholes filled, obstructed stop signs cleared, got “Dippity Dave” and gary long to resign, streaming council meetings, access to agenda packages, access to budgets, started North Huron Block Parents, recycle bins get emptied more frequently at the dump, summoned the Ombudsman, etc. etc. etc.
If you believe in the Right to question Council, Democracy or Freedom Of The Press, you must attend the council meeting 19Jan2016 and prevent this travesty.
Make your voice heard, and may they never attempt to tread on us again. Like Picard said, “not again, the line must be drawn here, this far, no further” Do not sacrifice Wingham.
