Waterloo Regional Police are urging anyone who recently received a package purportedly from a Waterloo business and containing a brown paste-like substance to not use the contents. On Monday December 15, a recipient of this product contacted the owner of the business who in turn reported the suspicious product to police. The substance was contained inside a zip-lock bag with instructions advising that it is a facial cream. The package also contains a logo for Gina’s Spa. Police have been advised that the product does not originate with Gina’s Spa or is a promotion for that business.

Similar packages were delivered to homes in the Beechwood West district of Waterloo on December 13th and 14th, 2014. At this time, police are aware of one resident who had applied the substance to their face which temporally dyed their skin. Waterloo Regional Police Service has not yet confirmed the nature of the substance and are asking residents not to use the product. At this time the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who has received this product or who has information on how the product came into circulation is asked to contact Waterloo Regional Police Service North Division at 519 650 8500 ext. 6397.
