(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have recovered a stolen GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been stolen overnight from a residence located on Walton Road east of Blyth.
Just before 4:30 a.m. Huron OPP officers received a call from the property owner after he awoke to find his pickup truck missing from his laneway. He also discovered thieves entered into a nearby unlocked shed whereupon they stole two dirt bikes and a .22 calibre rifle. Police believe the thieves stole the property sometime between 9:00 p.m. last night and 4:00 a.m. this morning.
A few hours ago police were patrolling in the area of Brussels when officers received a call from a passer-by reporting there was an abandoned pickup truck parked on Button Line near St. Michael’s Road. Officers arrived on scene shortly after 9:00 a.m. to find the stolen pickup parked in the middle of the road with the engine running. The green, 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck did not appear to be damaged.
The rifle and dirt bikes were not recovered.
The dirt bikes are described as a: yellow, 2006 Suzuki DLF, 125 cc dirt bike and a yellow 2007 Suzuki DLK , 125 cc dirt bike . They are both valued at approximately $1,500.
The stolen rifle is described as being a .22 calibre, single shot with a wooden stock. The firearm is approximately 50 years old.
The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside the vehicle. The shed was also left unlocked.
