(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have charged three males with drug possession and alcohol related offences following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) traffic stop on July 20, 2013. Just before 11:00 p.m. a silver Lexus entered the R.I.D.E checkpoint located at Base Line and Hydro Line Road. Upon speaking with the occupants officers noted they were attempting to conceal open cans of alcohol inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and the occupants revealed all three occupants were in possession of a controlled substance.
The driver, 18 year old, Gregory ORR from Perth South has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He will have to attend Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 23, 2013 to answer to the charge.
Brett STACEY, 18, from St. Marys has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Person Under 19 years of age Having Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. He will have to attend Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 23, 2013 to answer to the charge.
A 17 year old male passenger from Stratford has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Person Under 19 years Having Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. He will have to attend Ontario Youth Justice Court – Goderich on September 12, 2013 to answer to the charge.
