This morning we received an email from a reader, below are some
excerpts:
You cannot understand my dismay when I clicked on the icon
between the “Mennonite/Amish Business Directory†and “Speak Itâ€,
and lo and behold I was face to face with a jibbering Jehad or
whatever. The name of the site is “Aljazeeraâ€. This is
a word that is associated with terrorism and hatred throughout the
world…. Can you please explain to me why on earth a website in
Midwestern Ontario would have such a site displayed on it?
Even if you are paid good money to have it on there, is there
nothing in your principles to deter you from promoting the
“Aljazeera†and its beliefs…. I would like to know how you
justify promoting such a terrible website – can you justify this
to me and others that feel the same???
Al Jazeera appears to be an unbiased news organization, they openly
debate issues, and more importantly cover both sides of the
story. Their online channel has real news, real protests, real
refugees, real debates, real footage of victims showing the real
cost of war. There are no fluffy kitten stories, celebrity
pregnancies etc. Just News for adults that care about humanity.
Simply put, they speak the truth, allow others to be heard, and
deliver real News. See what <a target=_blank”

has to say about them.
We will continue to support href=”http://www.aljazeera.com/watch_now/”>Al Jazeera by linking
to them on every page of our site. WFP does not receive
any compensation for supporting them
