Al GILBERT – Race Motor Vehicle

(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging drivers to be vigilant and immediately report any and all unsafe driving they observe on area roads. This request comes after an occurrence on January 28 where OPP receive a traffic complaint of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 6 in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Bruce Peninsula OPP investigated the complaint and police observed a 2013 BMW, black in colour, travelling over twice the the speed limit, southbound on Highway 6 north of Shallow Lake in Township of Georgian Bluffs.

29-year-old male, Al GILBERT of Mississauga was charged with race a motor vehicle – excessive speed, Highway Traffic Act 172(1). The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.

As well, the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 3 days after registering a warning range, for alcohol in his blood, on the road-side screening device.

The OPP is asking if you witness unsafe driving on Ontario roads, call 911 and report it.
