The Chatham-Kent police are reminding citizens of their rights as homeowners.
Whether it’s a door-to-door salesperson or someone purporting to be an inspector at your door, as a homeowner you do not have to let a stranger into your residence. If they are being forceful or aggressive, please ask them to leave.
If they fail to respect your direction, please call police immediately.
