AGGRESSIVE DRIVER AVOIDS A CRASH BUT GETS CAUGHT BY POLICE
(BRANT TWP, ON) – On July 16, 2013 at 7:58 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was travelling Southbound on Bruce County Road 10 in Brant Township. The officer watched a Grey BMW convertible travel along Concession 4, Brant Township, and then pull onto Bruce County Road 10 without stopping. The officer saw traffic brake heavily to avoid a crash with the aggressive driver. 51 year old John CALLAGHAN of Toronto was charged with Disobey stop sign.
The South Bruce OPP looked at motor vehicle crashes in Southern Bruce County for 2012 and found that violating the rules of the road ranked #2 on the list of contributing factors. Ignoring a stop sign is not just illegal, it’s unsafe. The amount of time you save driving aggressively is not worth risking your life or anyone else’s.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
