Adelaide Street Warrant

On Saturday January 23, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m., the London Police Service along with the London Fire Department attended to an apartment building on Adelaide Street North in relation to a fire on the fourth floor. The occupant of the apartment was transported to a local hospital after sustaining multiple burns.

As a result of the fire and subsequent investigation, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at an apartment inside 1134 Adelaide Street North.

The following items were seized:

– 254 grams of marihuana bud totalling $2540

– 1863 grams of marihuana shake totalling approximately $400

– 15 vials of cannabis resin with residue

– 30 cans of butane

– a 380 caliber semi-automatic handgun

– loaded magazine with six rounds of 380 caliber ammunition

– a 22-caliber semi-automatic rifle

– 13 rounds of 22 caliber ammunition

– 15 rounds of 38 caliber ammunition

As a result, Brian Calvert (53 years) of London, is charged with:

– two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

– production of a Schedule II substance, contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

– Numerous firearms-related offences
