On July 14 an officer from the 1 District Response Unit was patrolling the Town of Acton when he observed a male driver consuming liquor from a 473ml tall beer can.
Fortunately the officer was able to complete a safe traffic stop on the driver and determine through a road side screening test that the driver was above the blood alcohol concentration of .05 but below .08 which would have resulted in an arrest.
The 57 year old resident of Acton was immediately suspended from driving for 3 days and charged with driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
Halton Police would like to remind our communities that we consider impaired driving a Crime in progress” and encourage citizens to report this immediately by calling 911 for an emergency response.”
