On September 2nd, 2014, at approximately 7:20am, Waterloo Regional Police responded to a hotel located in the City of Kitchener, after receiving a report of a possible abduction. Patrol officers along with the Emergency Response Unit attended the incident and secured the premises. Entry was made to several hotel rooms, which resulted in the arrest of one male, and the seizure of a quantity of methamphetamine and heroin. Following a thorough investigation by detectives, the report of an abduction could not be substantiated. One male remains in custody on the strength of two outstanding warrants for unrelated charges, and will be held for a show cause hearing.
