In the last 24 hours, police received 11 pocket dials/hang-up calls. The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all citizens that if you accidentally dial 911, please remain on the line. This will allow the call taker to determine the appropriate police response. Should you hang up, the call taker will assume that it is an emergency and dispatch police.
911 Pocket Dials consume considerable resources, therefore the Chatham-Kent Police Service are asking all cell phone users to ‘lock it before you pocket’.
