Barrie Police were called by a resident who observed an older male driving his car in a very erratic manner on Burton Ave.
Barrie Police located the driver on Melinda Ct and despite the early hour (9:05am) discovered he had drank several alcoholic beverages.
A 82 year old male was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Barrie Police Service for a series of breath tests.
The tests resulted in readings well over two and a half times (2 1/2) the legal limit.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is facing an April court date.
