80 Year Old Pedestrian Struck By Motor Vehicle – Fatality

On Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 11:55 a.m., Guelph Police responded to College Avenue, West, Guelph following a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in front of 166 College Avenue West. Investigation revealed that an 80-year-old Guelph male was crossing southbound across College Avenue when a vehicle that was eastbound in the curb lane struck him. The collision caused the male to be thrown eastward onto the roadway and caused damage to the front hood and windshield of the vehicle. GFD and GWEMS attended to the scene to assist the injured male who was transported to GGH where he succumbed to his injuries. The road was closed for several hours while Guelph Police Reconstruction and Identification Unit officers processed the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
