8 Arrested In $2.2 Million Grow Op Bust On Marnoch Line

(NORTH HURON, ON) – On Thursday, October 1, 2015 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Canine and Huron OPP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at residence located on Marnoch Line in North Huron, Huron County, Ontario.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police revealed a sophisticated cannabis marihuana grow operation.

Police seized Cannabis marihuana plants and processed cannabis marihuana. The combined estimated street value of the controlled substances is $2,220,000. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of trafficking paraphernalia and cash with an estimated value of $2,000.

A total of eight people were arrested on the property and have been held in custody for bail hearings scheduled for October 5, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. The following individuals were arrested and charged with Production of Cannabis Marihuana & Possession of Marihuana for the Purposes of Trafficking:

Rong Qing HUANG, male, 49 years of age from Scarborough

Xinguo LI, male, 33 years of age from Port Hope

Rui Liang ZHOU, male, 48 years of age from Markham

Yueying HUANG, female, 58 years of age from Rhode Island, USA

Qiu Lan LIU, female, 66 years of age from North Huron

Hong Ting TAO, female, 55 years of age from North Huron

Chen Meh LIN, female, 68 years of age from North Huron

Mia Hua SHU, female, 58 years of age from North Huron
