On Monday February 27 th , 2017 at approximately 2:45 p.m. police along with other EMS personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the 800 block of 2 nd Avenue East.
Investigation revealed that the driver, a 78 year old Owen Sound man was attempting to maneuver his Ford Focus car into a parking position. The driver unintentionally accelerated, driving over the curb and collided with a building on the east side of 2 nd Avenue. No injuries resulted from this collision. The building sustained minor damage and the vehicle was moderately damaged.
As a result of this collision the driver was charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
