At approximately 11:15am on the 12th of May 2015, a Pontiac sedan being driven by a 77 year old man turned left from Hamel Avenue, onto Lancaster. As a result the Pontiac struck a northbound SUV being driven by a 75 year old man, causing them to lose control and drive into the wall of a nearby business located at 493 Lancaster St W, Kitchener. The SUV driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Pontiac driver was not injured. Both vehicles were destroyed. The business that was hit was under construction and unoccupied at this time. The driver of the Pontiac has been charged with Turn – not in safety and fail to surrender proof of insurance.
