75 Year Old Runs Stop Sign – Hits Construction Trailer

(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On June 15, 2010 at 2:31 pm, the South Bruce OPP, Bruce County Ambulance and Walkerton Fire Department were called to the scene of a 2 vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and County Road 3. Highway 9 was temporarily closed from County Road 3 to Sideroad 5 to keep emergency responders safe. At 4:31 pm, the highway was open again for public use.

75 year old Eleanor Krauter of Bentinck Township was travelling northbound on County Road 3 when she failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 9. Krauter’s vehicle struck a Macrete Construction utility trailer being hauled westbound on Highway 9. Krauter was taken to the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton for treatment of non life threatening injuries. She has been charged with Fail to stop – Stop sign.
