75 Year Old Motorcyclist Hits Back End Of Toyota Camry – Two Sent To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Sunday, July 12, 2015 at approximately 3:41 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Hwy. 6 at Letter Breen Road in the Township of Southgate.

Investigation revealed that vehicles travelling northbound on Hwy. 6 were slowing down as a result of a stopped vehicle preparing to make a left turn (west) onto Letter Breen Road.

A northbound motorcycle was unable to stop in time and collided with the back end of a Toyota Camry. The two occupants on the motorcycle were ejected. The motorcycle rolled and collided into another vehicle.

The two motorcycle occupants, a male and female, both 75 years of age, were transported to a local hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Hamilton with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
