71 Year Old Suspended Driver Rolls Vehicle Now Facing Several Charges

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – A Grey Highlands man was charged with multiple offences after the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and flipped onto its side on Grey Rd. 4 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

On March 11, 2017 at approximately 7:03 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Grey Rd. 4 west of Grey Rd. 124. The driver of the 2005 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck had lost control of the vehicle while travelling eastbound on Grey Rd. 4. He suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene by Grey County Paramedics.

As a result of the investigation, a 71-year old Grey Highlands man was charged with driving while under suspension, operating an unsafe vehicle, permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle and fail to apply for permit on becoming owner under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 10, 2017.
