71 Year Old Attacked By 3 Vicious Dogs

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH ON) – On February 13, 2018 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received an animal complaint after a male had been attacked by three dogs running at large on Concession 3A in the Township of Chatsworth.

The male had just returned to his vehicle after snowshoeing on his property when three aggressive dogs ran towards him and began attacking. The snowshoes hindered his ability to get inside the vehicle quickly and as a result he suffered a dog bite to his leg. As he drove away the dogs continued to jump on the vehicle causing damage to it.

Once a safe distance away, the male stopped his vehicle on Grey Road 40 where he was assisted by a passing motorist who contacted police. The 71-year old victim was treated at the scene by Grey County Paramedics (EMS).

The owner of the dogs was identified.

The Township of Chatsworth Animal Control By-Law Officer and the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit were notified of the incident.

The investigation continues.
