(DELAWARE, ON) On Tuesday October 9, 2012 at 8:54 p.m., members of Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex OPP Crime Unit responded to a call of a domestic related incident within village of Delaware Middlesex Centre.
Upon arrival at the scene, police located a female party who was suffering from serious injuries. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene and the female party was transported to the hospital for medical care.
A male suspect was identified and arrested on Talbot Street in St. Thomas by members of the St. Thomas Police Service.
As a result of an investigation, 70-year-old Allan Roy SMITH of Delaware Ontario has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The male party has been held in custody and will appear in a London Court to speak to the charges.
