(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday October 14, 2011 shortly after 8:30 a.m. a Dodge Caliber passed a school bus as it was picking up children on Elma St. West in Listowel. The bus had its lights flashing and its stop arm out at the time it was passed. No students were injured as a result of this incident.
The driver of the offending vehicle was located by police. A 68 year old male from the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “fail to stop for school busâ€Â.
The motoring public is reminded to take extra care when school busses are picking up or dropping off passengers. If you fail to stop for a stopped school bus when required to do so, results in a $490 fine and an accumulation of 6 demerit points.
