(GREY COUNTY, ON) – On December 23, 2016, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with the West Grey Police Service and Hanover Police Service, conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks in Hanover and surrounding areas in their on-going effort to combat impaired driving. Their unified message to motorists – drive sober or don’t drive! Impaired driving, by alcohol or drugs, poses a threat to public safety and won’t be tolerated.
As a result of the joint R.I.D.E. program on December 23rd, about 480 vehicles were checked resulting in one charge for driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol.
67-year old David Paul SCHUTT of Hanover, is scheduled to appear in Walkerton court on January 18, 2017 to speak to the above charge.
