(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) Shortly before the noon hour on Thursday November 24, 2011, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Perth Road 120A (James St. South).
Investigation revealed that at the Perth Road 120A intersection a Ford pickup truck crossed Highway 7 from Cobble Hills Road in a north bound direction. The pickup truck crossed in front of a west bound Audi and the two vehicles collided. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to come to rest in the ditch area on the north-west corner of the intersection.
The St.Marys Fire Dept. attended and extinguished a small fire in one of the vehicles. Both drivers were transported to St.Marys Hospital with non life threatening injuries by Perth County Ambulance.
The Ford pickup truck was operated by a 64 year old male from Thames Centre while the Audi was operated by a 26 year old male from Stratford. The 64 year old male has been charged with “fail to yield to traffic on a through highwayâ€Â.
