(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) ā On August 13, 2016 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had received multiple calls from concerned motorists regarding an erratic driver operating a black Jeep Patriot SUV on Grey Road 3 in the Township of Chatsworth. Reports indicated that the vehicle was weaving all over the roadway and into oncoming traffic.
Police located the suspect vehicle on Sideroad 6, east of Grey Road 3 in the Township of Chatsworth and found the lone driver to be impaired by drug. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment where he was evaluated by a qualified Drug Recognition Evaluator. Drugs, drug paraphernalia and alcohol were seized.
60-year old Raymond THORAVAL of Owen Sound was charged with the following offences:
– Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Drug)
– Possession of Methamphetamine
– Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The accused was held for a bail hearing on August 16, 2016. He remains in custody pending a video bail hearing scheduled for August 19, 2016.
