(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Between April 28, 2015 and May 21, 2015 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged 6 motorists with impaired driving offences.
1). At 2 a.m. on Tuesday April 28, 2015 an officer observed a vehicle parked along Wallace Ave. North in Listowel. As the officer approached the vehicle it drove away. The vehicle was pulled over a shortly thereafter. The officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the female driver’s breath. The driver was issued a roadside breath sample demand. She failed to provide proper samples of her breath as required.
Josefina CABILADAS RAMOS (48) of Guelph has been charged with “fail or refuse to provide sample” contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on May 27, 2015 to answer to this charge.
2). On Saturday May 02, 2015 shortly before 5:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer, responding to a driving complaint, located the vehicle in question and observed it weaving within its lane. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment for Intoxilyzer Breath Tests which he failed.
Paul LAGINSKI (47) of Burlington has been charged with, “drive while ability impaired”, and “drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 15, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.
3). Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were dispatched to an apparent intoxicated male who had driven away from the LCBO store in Listowel around 5 p.m. on Sunday May 03, 2015. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the male driver at the Mac’s Milk variety store parking lot in Listowel. The male was transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment where he failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Isaak DYCK (24) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with, “care or control while impaired by alcohol”, and “care or control over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on June 10, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.
4). Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 06, 2015 a Perth County OPP officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision along Hwy 23 north of Monkton. The officer arrived on the scene and located a female driver in a damaged vehicle. The female driver who displayed signs of impairment was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where she failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Mariah GAULTON (18) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with, “drive while ability impaired”, and “drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on June 10, 2015, where she will have to answer to the charges.
5). On Saturday May 16, 2015 shortly before midnight, Perth County OPP officers received a call of a possible drunk driver in the area of Wildwood Conservation Area. Officers located a Dodge Nitro whose male driver was found to display signs of impairment. The male was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Kevin FITZSIMMONS (29) of Woodstock has been charged with, “drive while ability impaired”, and “drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 08, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.
6). On Thursday May 21, 2015 shortly before 9 p.m., a concerned motorist reported a Kia Sedona minivan weaving all over Perth Line 26 near Embro Road south of Stratford. Perth County OPP officers located the vehicle along Hwy 7 south of Stratford and arrested the male driver for impaired driving. The male was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Andres CARRANZA (61) of London has been charged with, “drive while ability impaired”, and “drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 29, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.
*** The above drivers received automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspensions and their motor vehicles have been impounded for a period of seven days.
