A 57 year old Toronto man was arrested and charged with Stunt driving after being caught driving 55km/hr over the posted speed limit. On May 11, 2016 at approximately 4:20am a Waterloo Regional Police traffic officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Homer Watson Boulevard and Block Line Road in the City of Kitchener. The officer observed a white Nissan SUV rocketing towards them and locked its speed on their laser at 105km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. The driver stopped without incident and was arrested for stunt driving. His vehicle has been seized and the driver had his license suspended for 7 days. If convicted he could face a maximum fine of $10,000. Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind drivers that we all have a part to play in road safety and ask drivers to obey the posted speed limits.
