$52,000 Damage To School – 17 Year Old Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) Huron OPP officers have arrested and charged a 17 year old male from South Huron in relation to a mischief investigation. On Saturday, January 28, 2012 just after 11:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers were dispatched to an alarm at an elementary school located on Goshen Line near Crediton. Upon arrival, officers found five doorways had been extensively damaged. The doors had been rammed by an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV); entry was not made into the school. The damage to the school is estimated at approximately $52,000.

Police conducted a neighbourhood canvass and with the assistance of the public were able to locate and identify the accused.

A young person has been charged with Mischief Exceeding $5,000; he will answer to the charge in Ontario Youth Justice Court – Goderich on April 5, 2012.
