(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On February 22, 2016 at approximately 8:21 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a Dodge Caravan in Leith, in the Municipality of Meaford.
Police stopped the vehicle on Grey Rd. 15 in Leith and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Upon registering a “Fail” on a roadside breath test, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Meaford OPP Detachment for further breath tests. The driver refused to provide breath samples and, as a result, was charged with the criminal offence of fail or refuse to provide breath sample.
52-year old Stephen Douglas BYERS of the Municipality of Meaford is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on March 10, 2016.
