$5,000 In Meat Stolen From Butcher Shop – Wild Boar Sausage, Texas Burgers, Pepperettes, etc

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Monday morning February 22, 2016, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Walnut Hill Farms, a butcher shop located along Road 104 south of Lisbon, in response to the reported theft of a motor vehicle.

Investigation revealed that sometime around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday February 21, 2016 unknown culprit(s) attended the butcher shop, gained entry into the building and removed the keys for the company delivery van. A number of boxes of cured meats were taken from inside the shop and loaded into the company’s white GMC Savana cargo van that was parked beside the butcher shop. The vehicle was driven away by the culprit(s), most likely in a south easterly direction along Perth Line 43 and Erb’s Road through Phillipsburg. The van was emptied of most of the stolen meat and left abandoned on the golf course of the Foxwood Golf & Country Club which is located approximately 10 km from the break-in location.

Stolen meat:

10 boxes of pepperettes

Half country hams

Boxes of Texas burgers

A box of wild boar garlic maple sausage

A box of beef roasts

The value of the stolen meat is estimated at $5,000

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have observed suspicious persons, vehicles or activity in the location of the theft between 11 p.m. and midnight on Sunday February 21st, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
