$5,000 In Copper Pipe Stolen

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron OPP officers are investigating a break, enter and theft at an abandoned agricultural college located on Airport Line in South Huron. Officers responded to the scene on March 25, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m. after receiving a call that a security guard at the premise had interrupted the crime in progress. The suspect had forced entry into the building and was attempting to steal copper pipe prior to fleeing. Several officers, including a canine unit attended the scene to try to locate the suspect. The suspect managed to evade police.

On March 26, 2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers returned to the same abandoned building after a security guard found a broken window at the building and observed a quantity of copper pipe had been stolen. The value of the stolen pipe is believed to be around $5,000.

The male suspect is described as being Caucasian, approximately 5’ 10”, wearing green and blue construction style clothing.
