(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On June 4, 2016, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) marine unit was out on Chesley Lake and the Saugeen River along with a Conservation Officer from the Ministry of Natural Resources. The officers found a number of violations; 5 boaters were charged for no personal floatation device, 2 were charged for having open alcohol and 1 was charged for fishing with no licence.
The South Bruce OPP marine unit encourages boaters to enjoy the water this summer, but do it safely; always ensure you have the required safety equipment on board before you leave the dock.
