Acting on information provided by the public, the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit and Community Patrol Branch along with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers conducted marihuana eradication over the past several days.
Officers checked corn fields throughout the municipality and seized 440 mature marihuana plants, worth approximately $440,000 for destruction.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers continue to welcome any information from the public regarding illegal marihuana grow sites. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
