On Wednesday, January 4, 2017, the London Police Service was notified by the Queensland Police Service, Australia regarding images being shared through an image sharing website located in Russia. The images were of a four year old girl who resides in London, Ontario. The London Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit collaborated with the Queensland Police Service in this investigation, and executed a search warrant at a residence in London on Thursday January 5, 2017.
A mobile phone and computer devices were seized.
As a result of this investigation, a 40-year-old London man has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
3 counts of Unlawfully possess child pornography, contrary to section163.1(4);
2 counts of Make child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(2);
2 counts of Make available child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(3);
2 counts of Voyeurism, contrary to section 162(1)(c); and
2 counts of Make available Voyeuristic recording, contrary to section 162(4).
The accused in this matter is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim in this case. He was held in custody and will appear in court today in relation to this matter.
The four year old girl was not physically injured and was provided the appropriate support from victim services and family.
