4 Vehicle Collision In Owen Sound

On Monday, November 7 th , 2016 at approximately 11:45 a.m. police services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving 4 motor vehicles. The event, which occurred on the Eddie Sargent Parkway near Kelso Beach, also required ambulance attendance after one of the involved parties had gone briefly unconscious.

A 48-year old Owen Sound resident was travelling southbound along the 1700 block of the Eddie Sargent Parkway, experienced a suspected medical issue, which contributed to her Mazda sedan swerving into on-coming traffic, colliding with a northbound sedan operated by a 63-year old Owen Sound resident. Another northbound sedan operated by a 73 year old Owen Sound woman was unable to avoid the collision, striking the vehicles.

The original vehicle finally came to rest after striking an unoccupied utility van which was parked along the west curb.

All 3 drivers were transported to hospital by EMS for examination. Injuries are not serious. Three of the involved vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Roads were not required to be closed.
