(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On October 10, 2017 at approximately 3:55 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County 12, near Eighth Line Township of Mapleton. The officer observed a male driving 2018 Chevrolet Malibu at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 137 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
39-year-old Marc DUGGAN of Schomberg has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 6, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
