(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Monday November 19, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision on Wellington Road 19, east of Fergus. It was reported that a Black SUV had had hit and severed a hydro pole and rolled.
Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue attended. The solo occupant of the vehicle was transported to local hospital with minor injuries. While speaking with the driver, investigators formed the opinion that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and when medically cleared, underwent Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) testing.
36-year-old Damien Paul CAMIRAND of Erin has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with Over 80mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 18, 2018.
