34 Stop Sign Infractions

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) ran a Stop and Look Campaign from Thursday April 4th to Sunday April 7th.

Officers concentrated their patrol efforts on Stop sign controlled intersections within the county were high numbers of collisions occur. Stop signs are a vital traffic control system that MUST be obeyed to ensure the safety of all those using our roadways.

During this short campaign 34 motorists were charged with stop sign infractions. Each of these drivers received a ticket with a $110 fine attached as well as an accumulation of 3 demerit points. In addition, officers also charged 5 drivers with traffic light violations.

Officers will continue to enforce violators at intersections throughout their regular patrols in attempts to reduce crashes that have the potential to be horrific and deadly in nature.
