On April 4, 2016 at 1:45 a.m., a 33 year old Cambridge male was arrested on Caledonian View in the city of Cambridge for breaking into a parked vehicle and attempting to break into several others in the Eagle Street North and Shettleston Drive neighborhood. A number of these vehicles were accessed as they were left unlocked. The male is facing a bail hearing on charges of Attempt Theft, Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Possession of Break and Enter Tools, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Mischief Under $5000, Trespass at Night and Breach of Probation. Anyone who observes items removed from their vehicles, are asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-653-7700 ext. 2299. The public is reminded to be vigilant in securing their personal vehicles when unoccupied or parked at their homes.
