(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Saturday September 26, 2015, shortly after 2 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols on Hwy 23 south of Monkton when an extremely fast moving car was observed passing other vehicles.
The officer activated the police radar and determined that the speed of the Mazda 3 was 60 km/h above the posted 80 km/h speed limit.
The Mazda was pulled over and the male driver, 30-year-old Vedran OTOMANCEK of London was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”, and “driver fail to surrender licence”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is to appear at Stratford Court on November 10, 2015, to answer to these charges.
The Mazda was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a period of seven days. The male driver also had his driving privileges suspended for a week.
