(PERTH COUNTY, ON) Over the Canada Day Long Weekend the Perth County OPP stopped large numbers of motorists traveling through The County. As a result of these stops 3 motorists were found to have a suspended or disqualified driver’s licence.
On Friday July 01, 2011 shortly before 11 p.m. a car was stopped on Perth Line 20 west of Russeldale for speeding, a subsequent driver’s licence check revealed that the 33 year old male driver from Kitchener had been suspended from driving since 1999. He was charged accordingly.
On Saturday July 02, 2011 at around 10:30 a.m. a Perth County OPP officer stopped a pickup truck on Hwy. 8 in Mitchell. The 37 year old male driver from South Huron was found to be suspended from driving. He was charged for this offence and 2 other Highway Traffic Act offences, in addition he was charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
On Sunday July 03, 2011 at approximately 4:40 p.m. a vehicle was stopped for speeding on Perth Line 20 south of Avonton. The 47 year old male driver from Toronto was found to be disqualified from driving. In addition the car he was operating was uninsured, the plates were not authorized for the vehicle and the car was found to be unsafe. As a result of his disqualification the male will have to appear in Stratford Criminal Court on August 15, 2011.
