(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – While Perth County OPP officers were conducting an OPP Festive Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) campaign in Fullarton around on Christmas Eve they stopped a large number of vehicles.
Around 11:30 p.m. they stopped a pickup truck and detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the 53 year old male driver’s breath. He registered a blood alcohol concentration reading from .05 – .08 on a roadside screening device. His licence was immediately suspended for three days.
The Perth County OPP will continue their patrols and Festive RIDE programs with the goal of keeping roads as safe as possible. The OPP Festive RIDE initiatives will run until January 2, 2016.
